Synopsis
JPMorganChase entrusted RadicalMedia with documenting one of the country’s most significant private collections of American flags and historical artifacts. Thoughtfully curated by historian and collector John Monsky, the collection features more than 50 extraordinary pieces spanning defining moments in U.S. history and is on display at the firm’s global headquarters in Manhattan.
We created a high-resolution photographic archive of the collection and a series of original films bringing its history to life.

The American Flag Films
We produced a cinematic overview of the exhibition, hosted by John Monsky, tracing the story of America through its flags – from the Revolutionary War and the Civil War to World War II, the Vietnam War, the Space Race and the events of September 11.
The photography, film and multiple cutdowns were conceived, produced and delivered in just four weeks, in time for the exhibition’s opening ahead of the nation’s 250th anniversary celebrations.

Digital Kiosk Experience & Individual Flag Films
Following the success of the launch, JPMorganChase expanded the collaboration, commissioning RadicalMedia to create twelve additional short films and a custom digital experience for the exhibition.
The films became rich historical vignettes, pairing John Monsky’s storytelling with carefully curated archival imagery to reveal each artifact’s provenance and remarkable journey through time.

Together, the films transformed the exhibition into an immersive storytelling experience, inviting visitors to engage not only with the flags themselves, but with the people, moments, and ideals they represent.
Flag Photography
Each artifact was photographed with the care and precision of fine art, revealing extraordinary details – from hand stitching and repairs to scorch marks and battle damage.
Because the flags could neither be removed from their frames nor repositioned, RadicalMedia developed a specialized high-resolution photography process that eliminated reflections while preserving every detail of these invaluable artifacts.

Looking at these flags I hope you’ll feel the emotion I feel because it’s our story. That’s how it all comes together for me and I hope that you enjoy seeing this history through these flags.”
