Biography
Joan is a Catalan-born director based between Barcelona and New York. His work centers on finding beauty in the mundane, using elevated, filmic visuals to blur the lines between carefully composed moments and off-the-cuff intimacy
His distinctive style has led him to collaborate with top-tier clients and outlets such as Netflix, Google, Audi, Canon, Airbnb, ZARA, Sony Music, UMG, VICE Media, and Condé Nast, among many others.
His personal and narrative projects have been showcased and awarded at international film festivals including the Cannes Young Director Award, El Ojo de Iberoamérica, and the La Jolla International Fashion Film Festival. His work has also been featured in publications such as Director’s Library, Director’s Notes, Booooooom.tv, Film Shortage, and has received a Vimeo Staff Pick.
Joan is currently developing his first feature-length film, following a Fulbright fellowship and selections to multiple industry labs and residencies, including the Energa CAMERIMAGE Talent Demo Program.
